ABOUT DONALD H. BROUSSARD, JR.
Welcome,

I am Coach D. Broussard and I am the Advanced Placement American Government & Politics Teacher as well as the Speech and Debate (Competition) Teacher. I am also the Mock Trial and the Speech and Debate coach. This is my 13th year teaching Social Studies and English.
I taught high school in New Orleans, La., Knoxville, TN., and Jackson, MS. Before teaching high school in Tennessee and Mississippi, I taught college courses at Strayer University and was a Campus President for the same University for two years.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree at Alabama A&M University (Political Science/Criminal Justice and Philosophy), Masters Degree in Education (Social Studies and English) and completing my Doctorate Degree Education from Grand Canyon University (Online/Campus) in Phoenix, AZ.

My job is simple yet complex. I am here to provide you the best education and quality discussion about the subject matter in which I love and adore. I will not lead you astray. If you need anything educationally, I will make sure I am available for you either in the morning or after school. Looking forward to a great academic year.

Our Philosophy
Baton Rouge Magnet High School will create a safe learning environment that nurtures a culture in which students will become college and/or career ready and lifelong learners. Our students will have the necessary skills to become productive citizens and compete in a competitive, ever-changing global society.
Our History
Baton Rouge High School opened its doors in 1880 as the only public high school for East Baton Rouge Parish. In 1927, the campus moved to the current location on Government Street as Baton Rouge High School. BRHS was designated as an Arts and Academic Magnet School in 1976.
